Another Lost Breed MC Book. Aiden and Cheryl are great together. I would have liked a better HEA. Like an engagement or wedding. Even a little more about Cheryl meeting the rest of the club that night. Still loved the story and the series. Can’t wait to read Owen next.

Aiden finally found what he had been missing but sure had a mountain to climb to get Cheryl's frame of mind straightened out. Loved these two together and really enjoyed their story.

Oh i like me some bossy alpha Aiden! With just a hint of danger and a whole lot of swag! Cheryl was well written and a sweet match for Aiden.

A story of two people who meet by accident, at an accident that Cheryl had that Aiden saw. They both have their own demons to work on there are a lot of twists & turns that make a really Great Story. Ail Parker & Weston Parker did a really good book.

Cheryl was in a bad relationship with Vince. Can't understand why she stayed for so long. Do to a fender bender, her meeting Aiden her life changed for the better. As the story unfolds changes are made to their lives. I enjoyed their story.

aiden left Chicago needing to start over.. He found himself in NYC with the Lost Breed but he wanted more.. One chance encounter with Cheryl and she was what he wanted.. Cheryl had a boyfriend though, a jerk of a boyfriend and just moved to NYC. Everything she wanted Vince was giving her except love. Can Aiden show her she is worth so much more?I was really enjoying this book and it just ended.

An adorable story! I simply can't get over Melanie Dickerson's books! She has such lovely, charming characters. And unforgettable adventures. And noble lessons. And victorious, fairy tale endings! ^_^If you like stories of feminine, endearing damsels in distress and handsome, brave, warrior-like knights, you will love Melanie Dickerson's HAGENHEIM series. Her female characters are not simpering fools, but they are sweet and lovely and always the alluring princess who allows the courageous knight to rescue her when in need.This retelling of Cinderella was no different. Gisela is a servant to her snooty, ridiculous, mean-spirited stepmother and stepsisters. She tells herself she doesn't care, and almost believes it. But then the knight she always thinks about and as a child, dreamed of marrying, appears in her life, and nothing is the same.Drama, danger, romance, and breathtaking moments ... The Captive Maiden is a perfectly lovely rendition of the classic fairy tale of Cinderella.

I liked The Captive Maiden (Hagenheim #4) by Melanie Dickerson though it was the least imaginative of the retellings so far – or at least the first half was. It was Cinderella, the classic version, barely changed until the midnight escape from the ball which was when the story finally went an entirely different direction. I liked the story (jousting!) but there were several times I thought it stretched believability. The second half was interesting since it was covering new ground – except it got repetitive so the new ground was…not so new very quickly.Specifically: (SPOILERS) I thought it was a real stretch to believe the bad guy (or his men) were able to sneak in, get in touch with evil girls, and kidnap Gisela all while soldiers were on guard searching. And then the escape, get caught, escape, get caught, escape… Was it just me or did Valten shorten their hiding every other sentence? They hide in the cave, he said, “We’ll hide 2-3 days.” They wake up, he says, “We’ll hide a couple days.” They eat breakfast, he says, “We’ll leave tonight”. So I can’t say I was surprised when they got caught after essentially *not* hiding. Most especially, the climactic ending made little sense to me. The random blindfold for no reason and then throwing them in a tower was crazy. Why would any sane bad guy leave his captives alone together? And then they escape (again) only to discover two more seconds and they’d have been rescued anyway. Honestly, I felt like the whole tower scenario was written just so there could be a “making out blindfolded” scene. Also, the big reveal at the end was too sudden. Some foreshadowing could easily have been worked in earlier.) (END SPOILERS)There was a moment during the grand climax that I expected something to happen and was disappointed when it did not. I felt like there was an opportunity for a more complex resolution to occur and the author opted for the easy way out instead. The romance was sweet and funny but I never quite bought into it. After 4 books, my feelings about the series have cemented – very cute but simple. I still love the series but they’re categorized as light YA romances in my brain now so I can stop expecting more complexity.

She dreams about the day she'll be free from their oppression, but in the meanwhile she's finding ways to make the most of her situation. She also dreams about Valten, the eldest son of the duke of Hagenheim and champion of tournaments around the world, whom she met when she was a child and has admired from afar.When Hagenheim hosts its own tournament and Valten comes back home, Gisela hardly hopes to even catch sight of him. But when another competing knight named Reuxner accosts her in the marketplace, Valten interferes and makes sure Gisela gets safely away from him. Valten finds the outspoken and quick-witted Gisela enchanting, and asks her to be sure to come to the tournament so he can see her again.As Valten and Gisela begin spending time together and forging a friendship, Reuxner sees this as the perfect opportunity to hurt his longtime rival. He approaches Gisela's stepmother and she agrees to sell Gisela to be Reuxner's bride. Knowing she won't marry him willingly, the two plot to kidnap Gisela and threaten Valten in order to force her acquiescence. The courageous Valten has a thing or two to say about this plan and sets off to find and rescue Gisela.I really liked the character of Valten. He's a man of strength and determination, but one of his weaknesses is relying too much on himself. The twists and turns of the story bring him to a place of humility and the realization that he needs to lean on the Lord and to accept the help of others if he ever hopes to free his captive maiden. As someone who is often stubborn enough to think I can handle things on my own, I could identify with Valten and I enjoyed his journey.There are no fairy godmothers in this version, just friends who are there to help Gisela and Valten become who they need to be. The idea of community is not always a popular one in this world that prizes fierce independence, but God desires that we walk in fellowship with others and help one another on life's path. In community is strength, and I am glad we get stories like this to come along and remind us of that every now and then.

I'm not disappointed with my purchase.

I'm somewhat new to bread baking and I found this book to be informative and flexible with its recipes and directions. I started with the King Arthur Baker's Companion, but was a bit discouraged by the lack of variation in the recipes (mostly white wheat flour, lots of dairy, great chemistry review but not as much direction as I needed). This book, on the other hand, lists a white and whole wheat variation for almost every recipe, recommends substitutes to keep the recipes kosher/dairy free, and has a variation for food processor/steel blade and stand mixer for almost every recipe. The chapters include: basic materials, bread making from A to Z, basic yeast bread, corn and potato based breads, breads of all nations, sourdough breads, rolls, biscuits and muffins, quick breads, and twelve menus of baking. I've followed several recipes and have had great success with all. I've been trying to make a 6-braided challah without success for a few weeks now; I had followed written directions and watched videos that helped but always left me hanging mid-braid, but the directions in this book made it so simple to understand that I had it down in minutes. Now I can't see what was so hard about it! Finally, my son can't have dairy or soy, and so the recommended substitutes and notes when a dairy ingredient are optional in a recipe are really helpful.

... what I have managed to produce, following the very clear instructions, has been nothing short of beautifully produced and a feast to the taste buds.As a former professional baker (but not of Greenstein's experience or discipline), I can attest to the quality of care and attention paid in the assembling of not just the recipes included in this offering, but the choices, the descriptive instruction and some of the wonderful humorous asides thrown in for good measure. I will never cut and stipple at the same time -- not that I ever did to begin with.Out West, where I live, it is difficult to get "first clear/common" flour so I have not yet baked the Jewish Rye (NOT caraway or "light"), but I am absolutely convinced it will be everything one expects.As a native New Yorker, and having recently visited and feasted on the varied cuisine, I can tell you that when you bake these recipes, you're going to get a real taste of New York Jewish Bakery fare.I do everything by hand, no machines; I prefer the interaction with the dough, to feel when it's ready at each stage. BUT, if you MUST use a mixer, Greenstein has included modified recipes for you, too. Fact is, in a bakery when you're making 25 loaves or more at a time, you use a machine! But, when you shape the loaf, you gotta use your hands.The bagels, the Potato bread, the challah, the sour dough, the wheat, the everything I've made thus far is everything you should expect from a guy who baked as a kid and then made a career out of it, as he came from the "family" business to make it his own.You really want this book more than any other, trust me.I can't wait for his Pastry book. I salivate just thinking about it. I know it will take me back to New York and the Jewish and Russian bakeries. Ah, I can smell them even now!

Rather it paints a picture of the fortunes of a remarkable company from which important lessons can be learned. It chronicles the growth and operations of this parastatal, extractive enterprise and industrial behemoth.The state of Arabia in the first decades of the 20th century, was so poor and under developed that the King of Saudi Arabia’s wealth and that of the realm, was kept in gold coins, cash, and other precious metals. It all fitted into chests that Finance Minister Sulaiman reportedly stored in his family home. These funds were needed to be distributed among the king’s subjects in politically expedient ways so as to ensure the continued loyalty from nomadic and settled tribesmen.What is today Saudi Aramco, started as a Saudi Arabian concession to drill for oil, granted to an American company under the name ‘Arabian American Company’ – Aramco.It began as a huge gamble. Previous geological surveys for signs of petroleum deposits in the Arabian Peninsula were disappointing but not conclusively negative. Oil had already been discovered in Iran in the early 1900s by the later named BP, and later in small quantities in Bahrain.The Saudi king at the time was so sceptical that oil would be found, that he asked the engineers and geologists who would be surveying the concession area, to let him know if they found any underground water cisterns that could be useful to his people.Several years and $10 million later revealed nothing of commercial value. In 1938, the team in Arabia decided to deepen one of the ‘dry’ wells by another two hundred feet, and found oil. By 1940, about 20,000 barrels of oil per day were being produced and the company had begun building housing and offices in Dhahran on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.With the end of World War II, the demand for petrol remained as high as during the war. Not only was Western Europe rebuilding its devastated cities, but the American military presence around the world necessitated consistently available petroleum products. Aramco increased oil production to over 200,000 barrels per day in 1947.The economics of oil had to be managed. If oil prices spiralled upward quickly, it could damage the economies into which the oil needed to be sold. At the same time, the luxuries of modernity were needed and wanted by Saudi royalty for themselves, and for the country. The oil finds were superbly managed so they produced vast amounts of money for the company, and the Saudi treasury.Over time, the kingdom was able to leverage its assets to obtain the best from around the world, in a wide variety of domestic developments and enterprises. This wealth enabled Saudi Arabia to spend lavishly and quickly on its building programme - the development of modern cities, airports, hotels, universities and other amenities, that catapulted large parts of the country into modernity.What Saudi Arabia realized it did have, was an immense quantity of a very desirable resource: petroleum. What it lacked, was the many resources needed to get the most out of this oil wealth. Perhaps the most obvious lesson to any country was this realization: they needed to buy what they did not have from the outside, and then to make it their own. And this theme runs through their modern economic history.For the royal family, it meant sending princes abroad for education at the finest Western institutions like Princeton and Oxford. For Aramco, it initially meant encouraging Saudi workers to accept training as welders, carpenters, machine repairmen, and general workers. Later, it entailed sending promising young Saudis abroad to university to learn geology, petroleum engineering, logistics, and law.There was considerable pressure on the King to nationalize Saudi Arabia’s oil assets and Aramco. Mexico had nationalized their subsoil resources in 1917. Iran’s oil industry was nationalized in 1954, and Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal Company in 1956. Iraq, Iran and Libya, had nationalized the foreign oil company assets within their borders. All have fared poorly.But the Royal House of Saud blocked this nationalistic fervour, in favour of engaging their American partners for their business acumen and technical prowess. Eventually Aramco was purchased from the American company - purchased not taken - in what was described as an “amicable deal”, and the company was renamed Saudi Aramco. The board of directors named Ali al-Naimi as the company’s first Saudi CEO.al-Naimi is an example of the Aramco development process. Born into a desert Bedouin family, he benefited from an Aramco-sponsored university education. He returned to the company as an entry-level geologist, learned the oil business and corporate management, and rose to the very top.Managers at Aramco administered the company like an international, not local oil company, with the highest of international standards in every part of the business. This distinction has been the key to Aramco’s success.Aramco has been Saudi Arabia’s greatest source of revenue as well as innovation, and has taken its place among the great multinational energy companies of the world. It is a leader in exploration and production; the initial processing and movement of crude oil, natural and liquid gases. It operates refineries, petrochemical plants, as well as marketing outlets, and product distributors. I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards reading a book with this subject matter but I was intrigued given the recent buzz on the Saudi Aramco IPO. I was very pleasantly surprised to be completely absorbed. Ms. Wald’s history of Saudi Arabia and its energy strategy reads like a novel! You have to admire and root for a country with a long-term strategy for its economic future that is willing to sacrifice short-term profits to become even more prosperous in generations to come.

This was a easy-to-read, pretty good history of Aramco and Saudi and how the two have developed over the decades. There were times when the book was repetitive, there are some editing errors (and entire paragraph reprinted two pages later), and the author, at times, felt a bit of a pollyanna regarding the cutthroat treachery within the house of Al Saud and the country. Overall, it's worth the read.

Ellen has been working on this project for about a decade and it really shows. The book is really well done and comes at the perfect time with the Aramco IPO looming.

The author wrote the story in a very readable style and keeps you engaged all the time. However, I have noticed that the book requires further editing and few corrections as well as there are number of facts were missing from the stories covered in the book.

Very thorough book on the MMPI-2 that we used in our personality assessment course - details on scoring, including codetypes, and possible treatments are included for each codetype; the only thing we noted in our class is that definitions can tend to pathologize and not include as much positive strengths for each personality type; can be "laundry-list" style in paragraphs, but very good details that can be incorporated into reports

This is a very thorough book on the MMPI-2/MMPI-RF, recommended highly by my professor and assigned as our reading text for class. It arrived in great condition, too.

Between this and Therapeutic Feedback for the MMPI-2, you will have a strong foundation for administering the MMPI-2 and interpreting results. Excellent manual!

Good book to have. Great resource. Authors are very knowledgeable about the MMPI-2. Would like too see a cookbook version.

This book does not add anything new or important to the already existing MMPI literature. Odd that this particular mix of authors seeks to profit from a book that is based, in part, on the MMPI-2-RF, the very innovative and much improved version of the original test. Two of them (Friedman; Nichols) have taken public positions against the RF, just as they did with the MMPI-2 when it was released nearly three decades ago.

Okay. So I don't have a pizza oven...yet. But it's on my list to build one, and this book has everything I might possibly need to know to build and enjoy it. So when this book showed up, I jumped on the chance to review it. And I'm glad I did! This book is great!First off, the science and obvious experience behind this book is clearly extensive but is still presented in a way that makes it easy to digest...pun intended. :) The pictures are lovely and the recipes, well, the recipes made me drool. Literally. Wow. With selections for everyone, with gluten free options, meat loaded pizzas, vegetarian delights, and even some sweets and salads, this book has it all! While it makes no pretences of being for anything other than a pizza oven, and it does not provide other baking options or conversions, I went ahead and tried some of the recipes in my regular oven. While they, of course, didn't have the same smoky awesomeness they would have had in a wood burning pizza oven, they were still delicious. We eat pizza every Monday in my family, and I'd honestly gotten a little tired of the same recipes. This book was a breath of fresh air! Here's what I tried:WHOLE-WHEAT PIZZA with PANCETTA, POTATO, and ASPARAGUSBREAKFAST PIEPIZZA with SAN MARZANO TOMATOES and BRAISED CHICKEN LEGSPIZZA with FRESH TOMATOES, GYPSY PEPPERS, and CAPERSROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH, ROQUEFORT, and WALNUT PIZZA...and they were all great! Still on my list to try are the calzones and a whole bunch of other pizzas. Ones of the things I really appreciated about this book was the focus on seasonal ingredients and cooking differently as the year progresses. As a result, I'll be cooking from this book for months and years to come. And when I finally get my pizza oven, it'll be pizza parties all year long!I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This book includes many different recipes and gives a good introduction to making this style of pizza. I received this book at a discount for a honest review. I have been interested in pizzas made in wood-fired ovens and book helped me learn and understand a lot of the basics involved. It also does a good job at giving a good idea of what work and preparation is required before actually building and setting up your own oven. Different styles of ovens are talked about, information about sourcing the right type of wood and how to fire up the oven, safety tips, and essential tools are all gone over.There are a lot of recipes included and I think that's the best part of the book. It gives you recipes for different dough including basic types, gluten free, wheat dough, and more so you can build many styles of pizza. Over 10 different types of sauces are also in this book and the few I've tried so far were very good. This gives you wonderful variety and flexibility in coming up with original and adventurous creations of your own. There are four chapters devoted to different categories of pizza: Meat pizzas, Poultry and Seafood pizzas, Vegetable pizzas, Calzones and sweet hand pies. There is even a chapter for things outside of pizza but associated or paired with it. This includes recipes for ricotta cheese, crepes, roasted vegetables, salads, and even more.The recipes were concise and easy to follow with preparation times listed along with the ingredients and instructions. There were many pizza recipes I had never heard of or even thought of, they helped spark my imagination and expand my view of pizza and different ingredients that could be used. The menu ideas are also very nice and well thought out for the occasions. I do wish that more color pictures of the different processes and steps were included to help clarify and guide things even more, but the book as it is certainly does an adequate job. The paper the book is printed on is thick, durable, and easy to turn. I would definitely recommend this book to adventurous pizza lovers looking for ideas and inspiration.

The Essentials of Wood-Fired Pizza is a well laid out collection of recipes for pizzas and calzones. The writer teaches you the techniques to a perfectly fired up oven and the art of come back for a second piece dough. I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The oven Roasted Red sauce caught my eye and looks like it will be flavorful and could be used on lots of other things besides pizza including just a great dipping sauce. We also really enjoyed the section beyond pizza that had items like Vietnamese Style Pork Skewer in Lettuce Cups and Shrimp Cooked in the Wood Oven with Garlic and Oil. Although, most of the recipes are made for a wood oven we plan one trying a few out on our grill and just adjusting the cooking times.

Such great cooking ideas in this book! I've only scratched the surface, but I'm loving the results from page 1 and on! The very basic starter recipe makes a great pizza dough every time!Inside this book, there are many great photos, detailed instructions on cooking with wood-fired ovens, and lists of all the tools you'll need or wish you had on hand!

This beautifully illustrated cookbook outlines the fine art of pie creations in a classic wood fired pizza oven. Nine chapters outline the details of the pizza oven itself, prepping, dough creation, sauces and condiments, charcuterie and meat pizzas, poultry and seafood pizzas, veggie pizzas, calzones and sweet hand pies, and finally a chapter with recipes on items other than pizza. It is easy to read with helpful hints in the margins. I’ve learned a lot and drooled much over these recipes. Since I have been working on perfecting my pizza, I found the sauce recipes most delicious. If you are planning a wonderfully cozy family outdoor kitchen, or just want to update current recipes, this is the cookbook for you!I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Interesting. Donald Tyson has an easy to read writing style. He does not cite the sources of all of his writing but I am reading his book(s) for my own personal interest and spiritual journey, not to write a thesis or term paper, so I can let it go. I liked the book. He makes references to Kabala and Golden Dawn traditions and the fact that he has adapted his own ideas and he has departed from their traditions, but he explains why and how and it sounds like it has helped him on his journey--so I'm fine with that too. I have read How to Make and Use a Magic Mirror and Familiar Spirits which can be used together if you want to scry in a black mirror.

Absolutely love this book. Explains ritual process and fundamentals in a simple and concise way to understand, in my opinion a must have for any occult library. Love all of Donal Tysons work!

I felt that this book was a good primer for those who are novice occult practicioners. I especially liked the cautionary emphasis regarding the consequences that certain activities would yield. This book points the magical initiate in the direction of spiritual growth and protection rather than the misuse of the divine spirit, for which I am personally grateful. The material contained within this book will require some study and cross-referencing, but overall it is a viable path to select for one's personal development as a magus.

It was a preety good book

Whereas the book does give a general over-veiw of magick, it did turn me off to evocation many years ago. It was about seven years ago when I first picked it up, and I did read it throughly. However, Tyson's Christian veiw did speak out on his section on Evocation. I remember reading something along the lines of the pagan gods being nothing more than demons, and not to go anywhere near them. It was not until a year later until I figured out that it was just wish-wash that he had written. Outside of this section, the book is decent, but with a few more errors.

I don't know why people tend to not like this book. It was given to me by my father when I was 13 and I fell madly in love with it! The Symbolism is beautifully overwhelming and it has helped me in ritual a lot! Donald Tyson is byfar an occult genius!
