The culture smart books can be read in no time and tell you lots of things about a country that would take years to reason out yourself. It's spot on accurate for the Austrians, though it underplays their charms. It overplays the formalities a bit. Younger Austrians never were offended if I failed to observe Austrian formalities. This book might be a little too general, as provinces matter a lot. It's probably also way too general in that it tries to characterize a country of 9 million people in 90 pages, but so what. It's a good starting point. If you're someone that likes to try to read up on or do as much background research as possible, this book is for you. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling there or who wants to understand the Austrians better. I'd also recommend reading the Culture Smart book about your own country to get a sense for how it generalizes and glosses over history, but in a way that is kind of insightful and revealing.

Extremely informative. Well-written and interesting. Definitely the book to read before your trip to Austria.

I enjoyed the reference and have been to Austria much of the information seems to hold. I thought it could have mentioned more about the ski resorts but that was minor in the scheme of things. All the content was practical and very useful.

Great book. It's a fun song to dance to and everyone loves the pictures.

I love the Barefoot Book line of books. I have not found a singalong book that my children have not liked, but this one is a favorite. The included CD can also be played on a computer and there is an animated version of the song (if you want a preview- look it up on YouTube).If you want a gateway book into Barefoot Books- try this one, especially if your child likes animals.We All Go Traveling By is a good one if your child likes cars/vehiclesI have found that my children (6 and 3) argue and fight less in the car when we listen to books/ sing along books. Save your sanity and buy/borrow from the library this and other wonderful audio books

Barefoot singalong books are the best! You can't go wrong and you can preview them all on youtube as a collection or individually. We love The Animal Boogie. Good for singing now and dancing shortly. If I had little ones in the classroom, I'd snatch it up!

I really like that it is obvious for a toddler to match the page with the words. It is easy for my daughter to know when to turn the page.

This is such a cute song and book. I love doing this with my kindergarten music class. They love singing the chorus for each animal and perform each animal's actions. The song is available on Barefoot Book's YouTube channel, among other titles.

My daughter couldn't afford to buy my grand kids books and they love reading. I am not able to do a lot of "extra spending" either but want the children to love books like I do and have the opportunity to have some. I was so glad to find these and at such a wonderful price. I was able to get the kids each several books of their own and they were so glad to get them to! Go Nanny!!! I will be buying some more for them too!!

This user-friendly book goes beyond food issues to also include safe household cleaning solutions wherever infants are present, food allergies, and how to select the best raw ingredients to create the most nutritious meals for babies. Don't be put off by the high amount of "warnings" presented in Yaron's copy. She doesn't mean to be an alarmist. These are merely meant to help you pay attention because when it comes to the health and well-being of children of any age, it's more important to be safe now then to sorry later. Yaron presents a solid foundation for eating and nutrition for mothers and dads to give their children at the earliest age to prevent disease and obesity from becoming factors in their lives later on.

We were given this book by a good friend. I love to cook and was excited to cook for our daughter but was worried about giving her the proper nutrition and cooking the food properly. After reading Super Baby Food, I realized that it wasn't all that difficult and took much less time than I had thought. The bases of SBF is the author's Super Porridge. If you have a food processor or blender it is very easy to make and SO much better for your child than that flaky rice cereal. My daughter loves it! The author gives a lot of detail about what foods you can feed your baby, the best ways to cook and prepare the foods and which foods you should stay away from because of potential allergies. I'm constantly referring back to the book as my daughter gets older and seeing what new foods I can introduce to her each month. She's now 11 months and is incredibly healthy, happy and loves to eat. One of the best things about SBF is that following the meal plan sets your child up to enjoy foods that are good for them through toddlerhood and behind.

When I was feeding my babies, this book was my go to resource for all things baby food. It is now my number one gift for new moms. This book gives suggested ages for all kinds of fruits and vegetables -- I had never considered feeding my babies celery until I saw it in this section of the book. My kids loved it!! It also has great recipes for baby food mixtures and toddler recipes. I have bought this book over and over and over again. It's that great!

This book is a GREAT reference for any beginner parent when introducing solids. It has a lot of breakdowns by month and also by food type.It can be a bit overwhelming in terms of all the information at once and the very detailed aspects of it.Overall I would definitely recommend it for first time parents!

This book was recommended to me by a friend, but I'm honestly not too crazy about it. Recipes are okay, but I prefer my copy of "The Pediatricians' Guide to Feeding Babies" https://www.amazon.com/dp/1607749017/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_39 ... Which I think is a more trustworthy source since the authors a actual pediatricians.

This book have valuable information including a timeline of which foods baby can eat at what age. It also has excellent guidelines to help you decide how much food to feed baby. Both of these sections of information made the purchase completely worth it to me.However, the author does go a bit over board pushing organic food and a vegetarian diet. The meat section is completely worthless and doesn't even have a place in the book. The section talks about why is she vegetarian, why meat is so awful for children and adults, and then shares 3-4 recipes that the author hasn't even tried.The author is also extremely concerned about bacteria being introduced to baby's food and goes to extreme measures to keep baby's food, utensils, etc, sterilized, bleached, and in high cabinets away from any human contact. If you have a clean house and good hygiene, it is enough, but the author makes the reader feel like keeping baby in a bubble.Other than those two kinda wacky observations, this was a wonderful book.

I love this book because it tells me exactly how to feed my baby "from scratch". I know many reviewers thought there was too much detail in the book, but I LIKE that aspect of it. I'll never need another book about baby food. My baby started out with her first solids using Ruth Yaron's plan and she's healthy and glowing with all the good foods we feed her.Several reviews talk about extra chapters detracting from the "food" aspect of the book. I have found those extra chapters to be very helpful. The advice about arts and crafts and how to save money on those expensive supplies is very sensible. I love the ideas about birthday parties and other kid activities. The book is more comprehensive than the title indicates.Ms. Yaron really makes it easy to prepare the foods, buy the ingredients, and stock up the freezer in advance, so that the actual feeding time is stress-free. I know some reviewers complained that the ingredients are too hard to find. I live in Beirut, Lebanon, and even here I can find EVERYTHING I need. Some reviewers complained that the book was too "pro-vegetarian" or that some foods aren't introduced at the right time. This didn't bother me because I'm planning on limited red meat anyway, and I use my doctor's recommendations along with this guide. She said OK to citrus at 8 months, and OK to flaxseed, too. As with any book about your baby, you have to go with your own instincts and what feels right.What feels right to me (and to the majority of others, it seems from the reviews here) is that this book is a mother's all-in-one guide to healthy eating for years and years.
