Four Stars, Preston was scarred due to a fire..A lot of mental damage..Caroline the girl next door always love him...If he wanted her in his life he had to overcome the stigma ..Which he does and naturally happily ever after the end.
I found myself completely drawn in to Preston and Caroline’s story. It was a perfect blend of serious and humorous—a longer story would have been absolutely delightful. As it was, I enjoyed reading it immensely.
A beautiful story about sacrifices for the ones we love even when those sacrifices are misguided. But love will end up the victor if we let love overcome our scars and others opinions.
Fun read I conjured up Jane Eyre as ofter as Beauty and the Beast. The characters showed the best of human kind and I also was pleased that I could enjoy the story in one sitting.
A heart breaking novel. The heartbreak of disfigurement and society. The struggle to try to find acceptance by self and others.
This book shows the heart can see the goodness in a man. Preston had to accept that his true self hadn’t changed just his outer shell.
I read it in one afternoon. Loved the characters and the writing, I was easily immersed in the Regency period. I will be watching for her books in the future!

I’ve never read a retelling of this Fairy Tale, and I loved how Megan did it! It was exquisite! I think this is her debut novel, and I’m eager to read more of her books. The story was really sweet and the characters so endearing! I was rooting the whole book for them to finally accept they are made for each other and that appearances can’t change what can only live in the heart: true love!I especially liked Caroline’s love for Little Romeo!! So cute!I definitely reccomend this novella and this author! Totally delightful!I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.
