** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **Imagine this for only for a moment.Solitude.Quietness.Away from the world, from people, from traffic, from city life.Secluded on an island, living off the land, in nature with no disturbances.Just you and your thoughts. And you wouldn’t want it any other way. This is Lock’s life.A life that he ran too after living in hell for years. Now after the abuse, the torment, the pain and hurt Lock can now live a life away from the clutches of his past. Finally freedom is his.But everything Lock is used to is about to change. An accident is about to change Lock’s life. But more importantly she will be his game changer. Her name….Juliet.Juliet and Lock, two complete opposites, joined by the unlikeliest of circumstances. How can two people so different co-exist in Lock’s world? How can Juliet survive when she finally realizes that Lock will do anything in his power to keep her?Lock will make Juliet his…..Who will survive?Guys again another spectacular read by Clarissa Wild. Raw, confronting an highly emotional, Lock was everything a novel could be and so much more.Catapulted into a world that delves into the mind of what life is like when you are broken and not conditioned to live on the outside world. Thrown into a tragic story about the willingness to love even though you have never felt it.A powerful read that left me speechless.Sheer perfection.5 stars
Juliet, a biologist, was headed to an uncharted island to study the plant life there. However when an accident causes her helicopter to crash land she is left the only survivor of the crash. Hurt and alone she wakes up to find there is some life on the island in the form of a huge muscular stranger that has taken her & locked her up. Will she find a way to get free and back to civilization or will she learn to like it there with the mystery man. After a horrid upbringing, Lock has been living in seclusion on a island away from the outside world until a helicopter crashes with a beautiful woman still alive amongst the wreckage. Intrigued by the beautiful woman but scared of what the outside world can do he has to decide to help her get home or keep her for himself. Dual POV, this book is tied into the Caged book but can be read as a standalone however I recommend reading Caged first.
Oh Clarissa Wild you have left my head spinning and my heart thumping, once again. LOCKED is yet again another brilliant read. Liked CAGED, this is another one of Ms Wild's dark and disturbing books that will definitely play psychological games with your mind. In amongst that dark and dirty, is a beauty and sweetness that will appeal to your more softer side.Lock is a man who loves the simplicity of his lifestyle. His solitude is what he desires, a life free of the torment and pain that he had previously suffered. However, his idyllic world is about to be shattered....shattered and altered by a woman named Juliet. He wants to keep her...she wants to leave. How can two people, who are polar opposites, form a lasting and loving relationship?A absolutely compelling read that I was unable to put down. I loved this book, loved the push and pull of Lock and Juliet's relationship. It wasn't easy for these two - but nothing good ever is. Yet again Ms Wild has blown my mind and had me thoroughly spellbound.Bring on Chase - because I can't wait.Read and Reviewed for Reading Is Our SatisfactionFIVE STARS
This wannabe cold bitch's inner dialogue is more than nauseating. She's whinny, judgmental, self-righteous, manipulative, dismissive and miserable. It would be insulting to juveniles to compare her mindset to theirs. I rolled my eyes so many times, I was scared my eyes would get stuck in the back of head. This immature female stated that she was "dismayed" that he caught her fondling his private. That was a shocker, the man just laid down 5 minutes ago. She is a biologist / researcher who is not a virgin; but, she acts clueless for no reason. The end result is the author’s laziness evolves into a disrespect for my dollar and time. Pure trash how does Lock appear to be the reasonable adult when his interactions have been limited by his past circumstances and island isolation. Running away because she’s afraid he might convince her to stay sounds like an 4-yr old having a tantrum because they need a nap. It’s so wrong. Far too much self loathing "I’m pathetic" and professions of "I hate you". I should never be with a man like him. She cares so much for animals; but, has trouble showing empathy for a man who grew up being treated less than an animal. She has the best sex in her life and immediately walks away from Lock because she should be mad at him. It’s an island; stop chasing her. Please leave her miserable behind alone for at least the next 50 pages. She was the villain hurling cold shoulders, spewing guilt, casting venomous words, weapons of her emotional warfare against a man who was so desperate for a female companion that he continuously pled for her to choose him and for him to be enough for her, let me love you he begs over and over and over and over again. Shame on you Ms. Wild for throwing this trash onto multiple pages and sinfully selling it. I wanted that boat to drown her miserable behind and him to find it too painful to stay on the island any longer. Prompting him to build a boat, go to the mainland to repent for involvement in the death of Ella’s little sister only to find forgiveness and the family he longed for all his life, him discovering siblings and his niece. Learning of his history (family background) and the death of his father. Living with Cage and his family and falling in love with a nurse or nanny so he can feel valued, loved, not a consolation prize. But the author took the book in another direction that was too little too late for me.
